Game Format
We will be having a game every other Saturday night. Click Here for the Schedule.
7:00 PM is start time. Those who have committed to play will be blinded in. Absent players will be blinded in until the first break and then those chips will be turned in. Absent players, if any, will be spaced over the tables as equally as possible. Those that committed and didn’t show will owe entry money and earn points for their finish. It is very difficult, not to mention expensive, to host these games, we will ask for courtesy regarding your commitments to play. We know sometimes unavoidable things come up, please call the host to let him as know as early as possible if your plans have changed.
Starting chip stack will be 5000 and blinds will start at 25-50. Click here for the Blind structure. Rounds will be 20 minutes each with a break after every 3 rounds.
You will earn 1 point for playing plus earn additional points based on your finish. The first player out gets one point, each player afterwards earns one additional point based on their finish. One additional reward point will be earned for making the final table (To keep things simple the final table points will be rewarded to the final 8 players, even though we may have 8,9,or 10 players at the final table). Still additional bonus points will be earned by each casher, with the lowest casher getting one point, and each subsequent higher finisher getting an extra point. Any extra chips earned are designed to be an incentive to play more regularly and also to reward those who play regularly since they are the ones contributing the most towards the prize fund. To further encourage players to participate regularly, points turn into extra chips at the table for the Championship Tournaments. The more times you play and the better you do translates into extra chips when it counts! Winners of the bi-weekly events will qualify for the Year end Tournament of Champions
See the payout schedule for complete details on standard bi-weekly game payouts and points.
Some additional rules that have come up over time:
Once a player has been assigned a seat (a position on the table), he cannot move unless directed to. This includes when new players get moved to a table. When someone needs to move to balance tables we will replace the position that got knocked out with someone in the same position on the other table. So if big blind gets knocked out and we need to fill his spot, we should pull whoever was going to be big blind on the other table. First to act is replace with first to act, etc. In some instances, the table that lost a player may need to wait for the other table to finish their hand in progress. When complete tables breakdown to consolidate from 3 tables to 2, or from 2 to 1, the players moving will draw for their new seat assignments, once again with no players at the table moving position. Once seated, there will be a redraw to determine button.
Raises – the initial raise has to be at least the amount of the big blind (for a total of double the big blind). Any subsequent re-raise must be at least the amount of the previous raise. All-in actions for players that don’t meet the minimum raise standards do not reopen the pot for additional action for players that have already acted.
We only allow chopping the prize pots if the final two players have both qualified for the year end and/or WSOP tournament that they are playing for that night. If both players have previously qualified for all events they are competing for that night, then if they agree, they can split the pot and the points evenly between them rather than playing out the heads up match.
Starting 2011 we will follow the casino tournament standards for blinds when players at the table that were due to blind have been eliminated. The blinds move as if the player was not eliminated until the blinds pass that position. No one will skip a blind or blinds because of another player being eliminated.
Both the Year End Tournament of Champions and the WSOP series have play requirements of 50% of the games from the time you start participating in the series and at least 25% of all games in the series. If someone wants to play late in the season and is unable to meet the playing requirements they can play and win prize money but won't be eligible for the championship games. A player that does not meet the minimum play requirements has the option of paying for missed games to meet the minimum requirement and will receive 2 points for each make up game that is paid for.
We are set up for 26 players (two 8 player tables and a 10). Minimum for a TOC winner will be 8 players.
8-10 players we will start with 1 table.
11-16 players we will start with 2 tables.
17 players will start with 2 tables.
18 players will start with 2 tables.
19 players will start with 2 tables. The last player to arrive will be an alternate and will be seated when the first elimination occurs. With no-shows being the problem that we’ve experienced, this rule will be in consideration for the hosts, who shouldn’t be expected to set up a third table for one extra player.
20-26 players will start with 3 tables.
If there are 27 or more players, those last to arrive will be seated when there are eliminations
We will combine from 3 - 2 tables when we reach 18 players.
We will combine from 2 - 1 table when we reach 8 players or if we are at 10 or 9 at a break.
